A productive 2024 PAINSTORM meeting

The PAINSTORM Consortium met in London on June 13-14, 2024 for its annual meeting.

The consortium gathered at King's College London to take stock of progress in the last 12 months and discuss future plans. Academic and industry partners, Patient Partners, and the Advisory Board were all present at the meeting. Highlights included:

• Progress in recruitment in all our cohorts (Work Package 1)
• Focus groups met to discuss assessment tools for neuropathic pain (Work Package 2)
• First participants recruited for an ecological momentary assessment study (Work Package 3)
• Ongoing recruitment for the imaging and nerve recording studies (Work Package 4)
• Joint effort to define neuropathic pain phenotypes in UK Biobank (Work Package 5)
• Making plans for a legacy biobank for PAINSTORM (Work Package 6)
• Future plans for data integration and data modelling (Work Package 7)
• The release of the second episode of the PAINSTORM podcast (PAINCAST: Neuropathic Pain Unravelled)
