Everyone feels pain differently. Some may have occasional discomfort, while others experience constant pain. Chronic pain is complex and diverse, making it hard to explain simply. How can we communicate these different experiences effectively?
How can those living with chronic pain share their unique experiences to help others understand?
Our workshop "Expressive Creative Flow", led by artist Emma Rankin, offers a calming space where art and pain converge. Through various artistic mediums, we aim to reveal the hidden aspects of pain. While we'll focus on nerve-related pain initially, all chronic pain experiences, especially endometriosis, are welcomed and valued.
In this workshop we will begin with a mindfulness exercise, followed by intuitive creative expression using our hands as the tools to create; much like we did as children - using colour and texture to give a visual image to our experiences with pain.
These works will then have the opportunity to be displayed in a gallery alongside other works created during PAINSTORM workshops.
